9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

Solely focussing on exploiting labour was not actually good for business. It prevented industrialization of the south which resulted in the north being richer and more powerful when the war broke out.
Exactly. ‘Capital’ is more than just money. Industrial infrastructure once built is a form of capital. And so is a happy, healthy, educated and engaged populace.
The love of money is the root of all evil. The short sighted plantation pig-fuckers squandered their own futures because they lacked the imagination needed to build a better future, even for their own descendants.

To rephrase your point: it wasn’t a bad system of brutal exploitation, human trafficking, rape, murder, and ruthless capitalism; it was actually very good at what it did. Why wouldn’t he celebrate it?
