Blocking public roadways and highways in an act of mass protest could saddle groups expressing their First Amendment rights with misdemeanor charges, heavy fines and possible jail time under a Republican bill discussed Wednesday by a Michigan House panel.

House Bill 4664, sponsored by state Rep. Alicia St. Germaine (R-Harrison Township), was before the House Judiciary Committee, which adopted a substitute altering the bill but took no further action after hearing testimony.

The more I see people on the Left trying to restrict gun ownership, the more I'm disappointed and suspicious I am of them being insider threats.

Ironically, peace and the simple freedoms to exist as whatever kind of person you want to be are only enforced through the promise of violence.

You lefties forgot about this rule and allowed fascists/MAGA to arm up and win elections while you decided guns were too scary and it wasn't worth the trouble to have deterrence and prefer to argue about tedious shit.

As a leftist I used to oppose the gun ownership for all. Now not so much. I've come to realise that in these times we need to take every measure we can to battle tyranny and fascism.

I still think it's crap if loonies have guys, 'cos I don't want American situations where there are weekly mass shootings. I do think though that when there's totalitarianism rising, we need to disarm the fascist and arm ourselves.

To the right, having sane and reasonable gun laws = banning guns somehow.

Like why can an 18 year old legally own a handgun that someone else gave them if they arent allowed to buy one for themselves, nor buy ammo for it?

Why does an AR15 or a glock qualify for a “hunting” tax exemption? What are you hunting with a glock?

Why is someone who committed a non-violent felony at some point not allowed to own a gun, but someone who committed a violent non-felony is?

Why are gun licensing and safe-handling training requirements somehow an infringement on your right to own a gun, when ultimately they dont stop you from owning a gun? Is having to get a drivers license or insurance to drive an infringement on your (non-existent) right to own a car?
