Thank you for sending less traffic to clickbait bullshit. You're much better than OP

Fargo is a wild one to have in there. I feel like it's been consistently great.

[–] bamboo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Season 2 of Fargo was at least on par with the first season.

I honestly think they've all been bangers. Very hard to keep the quality up after the rip roarer that was season one but I've enjoyed every season to the point that any more they bring out will be an instant watch for me.

Last of Us Season 2 is wild. The first season had a few changes to make it more TV adaptable, pretty much all of them landed for me.

Then the second season just removed a ton of impactful story for no apparent reason and wrote it like a LOTR adventure instead of an unhinged drive for vengeance.

thanks for having the list here, I hate clickbait lol

Was the first season of TLOU amazing? I don’t think it was.

[–] Cyberflunk@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Click bait should not be encouraged.

Its not Screenrant's worst article, to be fair.

I feel like they’re heading in the direction of Buzzfeed, where their better half may evolve into solid journalism/criticism.

And the bad half funds it. Which is... fine.

…And hopefully they don’t shut down the good half after that. Like Buzzfeed.

I disagree on Stranger Things. It dipped in the second season, but the third fourth and fifth seasons are excellent.

Also the prequel play that is currently on broadway is just incredible and goes toe to toe with any one episode in S1.

I like Stranger Things. But season 1 is one of the most intense seasons of television ever. Then it switched from horror to thriller/action and none of the other seasons even come close. Still good, but not top 10 television good.

[–] IWW4@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago

You are right it is not top ten, it is top five.

[–] TheMinister@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Huh. I’ve been hearing a lot about the play. Maybe I need to make a lil Redbox visit

[–] IWW4@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago

The play is incredible. It pulls in an Old Michael Pare movie called The Philadelphia Experiment, and it happens all around you as an audience member.

I thought that about Stranger Things it's one of my favourite shows of all time. The starcourt mall attack was sensational!

[–] IWW4@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago

The Battle of StarCourt Mall was excellent!!! All of S3 was excellent.

I always feel a little sad with shows like Heroes. It had such good potential, but it was a victim of the writers strike at the time, so was Battlestar Galactica (one of my favorites). Quite a few shows just kind of flopped and that’s when we saw more reality TV start showing up and become the monster it is today. I really hate reality shows.

To be clear, I 100% supported the writers during their strike, it just sucks that some really good shows were impacted.

I also disagree with adding The Last of Us to the list. I never played the game, although I know most of the differences between show and game because of friends so I get why folks who played the game were upset with it. As just a show watcher, I thought the second season was just as good as the first. Maybe a little slower paced, but not enough to be on a list like this, especially putting it higher on the list than Westworld S2.

I really hate reality shows.

Except Clarkson's Farm! It’s great, especially if you’ve watched any Top Gear before.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 2 points 1 month ago

alone is my exception.

[–] dkppunk@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I haven’t watched it, but I doubt I would enjoy it. I really don’t like reality tv and I wasn’t a fan of Top Gear. I am very happy you enjoy that show though!

[–] CubitOom@infosec.pub 3 points 1 month ago (3 children)

How is game of thrones not on the list?

Obligatory GoT horse image...

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

It’s more “the last season shouldn’t exist,” as it was pretty good after season 1.

[–] MimicJar@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Because the first four seasons are all fantastic, it's only in season five that things start to slip. Sure season one's "Baelor" is a huge tone setting moment that defines the rest of the series but there is no denying that season three's "Rains of Castamere" is the peak of the show.

[–] WormFood@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I will go to bat for the later seasons of Fargo, in particular seasons 3 and 5.
