RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world

15th of August was a holiday here, it felt quite nice to have an extra day to relax, then do errands on Saturday, then chill again on Sunday.

It honestly adds so much to work life balance and health. I typically work enough hours to take off Friday every other week, but I've been having to work overtime lately. There's so much to do on the weekends. It's nice to actually have a day where you can relax.

I miss work from home. I miss 3 day weekends. I miss work-life balance.

I see lots of posts here of people who work from home and want that for myself. Unfortunately hard to find.

Glad you enjoyed the extra day off!

Thank you! Sorry to hear you don't have those, those are definitely harder to find nowadays.

I try and avoid taking jobs for monday and friday as much as possible so 3 - 4 day weekends are somewhat regular thing for me. Benefits of being self-employed.

They are great! If we got them I always wonder if we'd just get used to them and need 4 days

compressed 4-day workweek has been a game changer for me
