Was gonna make a joke about newest countries and Israel, then I looked it up and WTF, it's not even in the top 10 most recent. Country formation is apparently a reasonably common event!

Israel was founded during the first of the three waves of decolonialization. When you look at the 1936 world map you'll notice that there's only about 10 countries that are taking most of the globe.

All countries have bad spots in their histories. Let's not condemn someone for the past. Instead, lets look for ways that to all do better moving forward.

Condemning countries actively comitting war crimes is a separate matter and easily falls under "what can we do to stop that?".

Millions of people have been killed because of grievances from history books. It would be better to learn from history instead of using it as a source of grievance.
