Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

Around a week ago,a manager sent a really shitty email. I flipped, mouthed off to my cats and had to walk away from my computer. Replied hours later in a pleasant but formal tone.

Try to keep your poor cats out of it.

Oh don't worry they agreed. I could tell by their purring

A month ago, when my dad mocked my movements and voice while I was speaking to him. It was weird. And it wasn’t until later when confronted that he denied it ever happened and told me that I am seeing things.

A tantrum and a couple hours later he admitted he did do all of it. I even started to doubt myself. Gah

Gaslighting can be horribly confusing, especially when it's from someone important like our dad. It was a really shitty thing for him to do

Thank you 🩷 Yes, it was so confusing. It helped that I could share it with my mum and she could relate to the it so much. I don’t think my dad does it on purpose— this mocking, it’s just .. part of him? I guess. Can’t wait to move out ^^

Your mum relating definitely helps. Sadly it not being on purpose doesn't mean it's not hurtful. How long till you can move out?

It's been a while, this year I've been in more of a state of general dismay and it's hard to get angry from that position.

I get that. Dismay is kinda down, flat and can be hopeless. It doesn't lend itself to anger

Practically any time I use a computer product for more than an hour.

If it's web-based it's closer to 10 minutes.

Last time we experienced abuse, which is most days here.
