Hey Peeps, sorry for the late post, I'm on a small vacation and completly forgot about the show for a little bit :o

And honestly I'm not that disappointed that I did... I really hated the ending of this episode. The way Batista acted in those specific situations is so dumb to me. First by going to speak to Prater (someone he doesn't know at all) and then by attacking Dexter when he just freed him.
On top of that, they ended Batista's character the same way they do every character that has turned on Dexter but that he can't kill. By getting him killed by someone else or dying from an accident.
And I'm seriously tired of this trope.

The rest of the episode was pretty good though. My highlight especially is Peter Dinklage, his acting as Tyrion was amazing and it is still so as Prater.

In my opnion they wasted Batista's character arc on such a quick, almost meaningless death. Why kill such an iconic character like this smh.
The only interesting outcome of this is going to be the impact that it will hopefully have on Dexter's psyche.
Now we just gotta how the hell is he going to get out of this situation, and that vault !

Poor Batista. We all knew where his story was headed.

With Prater hosting a fancy gala at his house it would have been great to have everyone sneaking around the party trying to remain calm while secretly trying to take the others out. Which still might happen next episode.

We could have had Dexter lure Batista into Prater's killer museum, give him a chance to take a different path.

Still a great episode, but it could have been better.

Damn Mimic why do you have to show me such a nice version of what could have been ? 😭

I could have been on board if Batista had turned on Dexter after careful consideration and a night of mysteries.

First by going to speak to Prater (someone he doesn't know at all)

Prater is a rich white dude. What would he realistically have to fear from that guy?

and then by attacking Dexter when he just freed him.

Dexter killed 2 of his best friends and his wife.

The only interesting outcome of this is going to be the impact that it will hopefully have on Dexter's psyche.

We've already seen this several times. He indirectly killed many of his closest friends, his sister, and even his wife in the past. Seems unlikely to be different.

Rich white dude that is hanging out with the bay harbour butcher ?
I wonder what... :))

Dexter killed 2 of his best friends and his wife.

I get that, but that's why he has been trying to investigate and make a case this whole season to have proof enough to arrest him. If he wanted to kill Dexter he had all the opportunities in the world to do so. Like in the car scene where he dropped his airpods. Or even after they killed the people who wanted Dexter to kill Batista. Or basically at any other moment.

It does make some sense that he wants to kill Dexter, but not in that situation.

We've already seen this several times.

Well when you say it like that it does make me realize that that part is also most likely gonna end the same way as before...
Maybe a little drama with keeping Harrison in his life or some such, but that's if.

Plus with only one episode left there isn't enough time left to do that much.

Rich white dude that is hanging out with the bay harbour butcher ?

Dexter "hangs out with" dozens of innocent people. Is he supposed to assume that all of them have murderous intent?

If he wanted to kill Dexter he had all the opportunities in the world to do so.

He didn't want to kill him. But he was put into a precarious situation and was trying to fight his way out. Just because Dexter cut him loose doesn't mean he was going to let him go free.

Is he supposed to assume that all of them have murderous intent?

Hmm yes? He should at least assume that they could be dangerous. How could Batista rule out prater when he knows that Dexter hunts down serial killers?

he was put into a precarious situation and was trying to fight his way out.

I just don't buy the fact that in such a precarious situation you turn on the one person in the room that is not actively threatening your life and has actually freed you.
