In other news, on a smaller scale I was given a similar task, but I just fiddled with a single AI instance for an afternoon. I said it was shit, and my boss took me at my word. Job done.
Fuck AI
"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"
A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.
My boss tried to introduce AI workflow into the office. Within six months people quietly dropped it and he quietly didn't notice it because it was actively making things slower and worse.
Seems par for the course, TBH!
When our company got it's own AI instance there was a big announcement, then a couple of months later I (just a supervisor) was asked to evaluate it, and there's been no word of it since.
I think your sister is stuck in an unenviable position. This shit is new. All good studies that I would label reliable information are surely yet to come. The lab coats are just getting ready to dig in. And everything that's out there on the internet today is piecemeal or corporate PR.
Hum, yeah good points ... it feels like lots of management types are glomping onto this at a rate far above what I would have expected for something with so few statistics / proofs of concept.
Thank you
Maybe not related to your situation but first thing i remembered was seeing this linked yesterday:
Cool, thanks - not a bullseye, but tangentially close so it might come in useful :-)
