It might have been a situation like the A-Team, which was essentially for kids, but presented as something for adults, so you thought you were super-cool for watching it as a child (and didn't realise until later that you were in exactly the intended demographic).

My parental units liked it and I hated it...
it’s cause we all know air wolf was the true cinema
I don't remember that! I had to do a search. But I remember the A-team.
Air Wolf was a cool helicopter instead of a cool car. Later seasons were very bad as they weren't allowed to film them flying because of stunt crashes. So it was all recycled footage.
This reminds me Elfen Lied. The anime itself is a meh adaptation of an otherwise good/decent manga series, but the opening? It's fucking beautiful
The sentient Firebird with leftover Cylon parts isn't thrilling enough for you?
No. I hated that show.
ack! but theres so much cheese!
ha, this is very likely. Maybe its nostalgia that keeps the feeling fresh
It was just a 3rd gen F-body ad to try and make the thing seem cool despite terrible anaemic factory builds and options, on an objectively uglier generation of cars, exploring the constraints of new materials and processes. I'm actually more into them than is reasonable, but mostly because they were dirt cheap when I was a kid. (i.e. 305's were absolute junk, the rear end is weak, the t5 is too small, and the 350 only came in automatic, plus it handled like a tub with the stamped torsion bar and control arms)
