Why would they write that? It’s one of the worst things she has been in other than season 2 of HotD.

She’s insanely great in everything as long as the material isn’t junk.

RPO is a YA movie. I don’t think that is this website’ target audience.

Oh no, the people paid for their looks are upset at being objectified again. Have you considered that other actors, who do not obsess over their looks as much, aren't often asked to do sex scenes?

Did you even read the article? I had to check your profile to make sure it was worth replying to. You seem like a good dude, but you clearly haven't learned how to empathize.

This is about setting those contractual boundaries though a coordinator. Some actors are getting flak for holding the directing team accountable to those boundaries. They say "no" and then get labeled a bitch for doing so.

Maybe read a book from a woman's perspective, or try to understand that life is grey for a lot of people. You clearly have a very black and white understanding of the world.

She didn't say anything specifically about "being objectified" at all. She's talking specifically about sex scenes.

She's complaining about being asked to do the job she agreed to do. Would you read an article about me being uncomfortable with handling heavy pieces of metal as a welder or machinist? No. It's expected of the job. You either do it, or you don't.

If you don't want to do an intimate scene, say so. Don't complain about being asked. If you feel pressure against saying no, or if you're afraid of discrimination for asserting your opinion, then you have a problem with the job you've agreed to do, not the work.

In an interview with The i Paper, Cooke said actresses “often get labelled ‘difficult’ or ‘a bitch’ for speaking up” when they are uncomfortable with intimate performances.

Cooke said good intimacy coordinators become a “voice” for women who are hesitant about filming requests, particularly when actresses are “just starting out and don’t have the vocabulary to say what they’re not comfortable with.”

You're making a lot of assumptions here. She's not saying she accepted sex scenes for her character in a contract, then refused to do them later on.

What hint could she have had that a Game of Thrones spinoff MIGHT have a sex scene? There is no possible way she could have possibly known about an IP that's been absolutely gigantic for going on 10 years. What an absolute blindside. /s

Self advocating is a skill learned as a toddler, not as a full grown adult in industry being asked to do industry work. I'm saying she accepted an acting role and is complaining about being asked to act. Not that she couldn't set her own boundaries, or that she hasn't. I fervently hope she has, in fact.

However, giving yourself anxiety about maybe being asked something in the future and having to make a decision is a non-starter. Make a decision either way and stick with it. Have the confidence in yourself to make a choice. Changing your mind later is also a choice, but that one will kind of make you a bit of a bitch, and even then only for allowing yourself to be pushed around.

She isn't complaining that she was asked to do a sex scene. She's noting that some parts of sex scenes can be uncomfortable for women, and that intimacy co-ordinators are good at alleviating and helping with concerns there and recognising requests from the women in the scene.

Yeah, and the parts that you're missing are

a) "If you don't want to do an intimate scene, say so." Did you read anything at all? It's the entire point, women can't do that without being branded "difficult on set"

b) its not about not having intimate scenes at all, it's about being able to put any boundary at all.

c) it's always the women that have to do the more "interesting" scenes. Have men do the exact same scenes in the exact same way with the whole crew around and let's see how comfortable they are.
