Were those really Russian drones? I don't like where it is going. Here is a quote from Polish article:
The American CNN pointed out that Poland is a member of the North Atlantic Alliance, and the pact's foundation is the principle that an attack on one country is an attack on all. The BBC assessed that "Poland's shooting down of Russian targets marks a new phase since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine."
The Telegraph, however, cited a statement from the Polish military, which appealed to citizens to stay home due to the situation on the border.
I can't imagine that Russia would start the war with NATO by flying 5 drones into Poland. Most likely explanations are that it's an attempt at a provocation, or they might've gone off course. Given that Russia sends in hundreds of them every night, it's not impossible. Overall, I think it's a nothing burger.
Rarely does something happen in Poland that is commented on internationally. But something happening between Russia and Poland is such a big deal here. There is a lot of talk about war, Russian bots, and Russian propaganda. It doesn't even matter if it's from the left or the right. Truly interesting to look at from the sidelines. The propaganda is so intense that you really start to doubt yourself.
Belarus gave Poland advance notice, stating that EW activity caused several drones to become uncontrolled. It's just more NATO war mongering.
