pampered tortoiseshell cat 4 years, miss you MissMiss

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Such a pretty cat! You must have some great memories with her, being so pretty and so torti-ed. I have a dilute torti, and rest assured it's only her colouring that is diluted, not the tortitude!

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Oh yes! When we adopted TheVoid we asked LDH for somebody with enough personality to stand up to a 16yo Tortie. They blinked hard.

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 3 points 3 days ago

She sounds perfect!

One particular co-worker is irritating me to high heaven today and can absolutely go sit on a rusty pipe for a while. Ffs.

Aldi have these cheese sticks. I eat them every day

So my question of the day is: What are you loving sick lately? Could be anything!

[–] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 7 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I've been tracking my food and seeing that I'm not eating much fat so I've started using camembert as butter in my egg on toast, and stirring a tea spoon of peanut butter into my porridge. Both of these things have been a solid improvement to each meal.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 3 days ago

Interesting

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 points 3 days ago

I used to have a teaspoon of butter with porridge, maybe I should do that again, it tastes delicious

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 7 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Jazz apples. I could legit eat them all day non stop no worries lol

Project Hail Mary on Audible!! Hands down, the best audiobook I've ever listened to. The guy who reads it embodies the character so well, and they even have a voice for the "alien" character. I remember just_kitten talking about it on here (who I think also recommended Severance iirc?), and so when it came to decide on what to listen to, I went in blind.

@just_kitten@aussie.zone, if you're reading this, please drop more recs :)

(I've also been milking the Audible free trial for about six months now by signing up with different emails, please don't tell them hehe)

For tonight I chose an ab workout. I am an idiot. I haven't seen my abs since 2006. What the hell was I thinking?

[–] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 points 3 days ago

They're still there. A strong core is good.

I have now successfully visited a new place and aquired some mulch. The landscape supply place is a tiny bit more expensive than Bunnings, but it has an indoor drive in area that was much nicer than having to wrangle lots of stuff on a trolley (probably 2 or 3 trips worth) in the rain.

Ballarat Landscape Supply, so probably a touch out of the way for most people in the group 😁

Any of you lot who need to de-fur their face use a cut throat? Contemplating getting Boyo one

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Does he cut with the grain or against? Is he good with sharpening tools? Does he nick himself regularly?

You can get nice Safety razors. That's what my man uses.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

No idea. Paranoid about his chisels. No.

A double edge safety razor is a nicer experience imo. +Brush. +Poraso soap. +Sample pack of different blades. $50=$150

Husband got a Welcome to Cuntry the other day when a roo jumped out and smashed his front grill and bounced off with his badge.

He gets to drive my grandma car now.

Getting ready to head to the gym and pulled a muscle in the worst possible spot where I can’t do either upper or lower body.

Win some, lose some. Looks like it’s me and fluffy butt hanging out today.

[–] Force_majeure123@aussie.zone 8 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Nothing says R U OK like a kit kat.

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 5 points 3 days ago

We got kit kits too! In a little cardboard sleeve.

I’m going out Saturday night to celebrate the results.

Why the fuck not. If you don’t go out and celebrate news like this, then nothing is worth celebrating πŸŽ‰

What's your strongest category? Mine is food & drink and random general knowledge shit.

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Random general knowledge shit. I know a little bit about lots of things, but not a whole lot of anything (expect Stargate).

Movie Review

The Brutalist.

A long movie about art and artists and the artistic life.

His life is chaotic. Nothing is ever easy. Maybe that is the point. ( but the movie is carefully constructed )

I am going to watch it again tomorrow.

Late night YT discovery - and this lady has clearly articulated some things I feel very strongly about and wholly agree. Particularly right now.

Why birds gotta be so loud at 5:30am? Nature’s alarm has been getting to me this week.
