More than possible, probably you're correct.

Yeah, when we (fam) were doing the burial at sea thing for my Dad (cos ex-sailor), we were told to put the container under water, open the lid and swish gently until the container was empty. Then dispose of the container thoughtfully. Same for my Mum at the same beach. We were SPECIFICALLY warned not to attempt to open the container in the air and then dump cos of the air cushion effects just above the water - the ones that keep albatrosses flying for months at a time. And not to just heave the container into the ocean unopened because it would eventually be washed ashore just like the one you found as there's quite a lot of air in the standard container as well as the remains. My guess is someone wasn't listening or didn't read the instructions given by the crematorium.

Ssshhh, don't tell anyone cos reading instructions is a superpower that's available to all, but rarely used.

My takeaway on the vid is that real self care is being present in the moment - whatever that moment consists of. I fully agree with her that self care is NOT a competition. And you can't fix things by going shopping. Or performing rituals.

Late night YT discovery - and this lady has clearly articulated some things I feel very strongly about and wholly agree. Particularly right now.

5 most toxic self-care trends to avoid

It's 7ish am here in Munich. So far so good with DIL. Introduced the lil one to fingerpainting yesterday - so cute. Have to food shop today, so wish me luck.

EDIT: Thanks huugely everyone for all your well wishes and advice on translations etc. We'll know more about DIL's condition in the next couple of days. Still touch & go rn.

Hello everyone! Got logged out of my regular login without my knowledge or consent - and couldn't get back in until I made a new account. All sorted now.

Am currently in Munich - have had a busy few days. Basically my daughter in law is about 38 weeks pregnant with her second, and developed major problems on Saturday (in Aust). Had to drop everything and leap onto the next flight to get there an wrangle her first one (aged 3). Son was completely distraught what with everything which should not surprise. DIL is still in intensive care, and son is spending as much time there as possible. Lil one is a handful - smart enough to know that there's something seriously wrong with Mum but unable to really regulate her own behaviour and emotions. DIL's mother will be joining us here at the end of this week so we can hand off kid wrangling to each other as required. Somewhere along the way my login here got cut off, and have only now been able to get a new one.

Haven't seen much of the city yet - son & DIL's flat is over the road and down an alley from some huuuuge gardens - I think it's called Nymphenbourg and there's some kind of historic palace there so kid & I have been checking them out. I have discovered that one year of high school german 50+ years ago is not sufficient for food shopping effectively in this town. Have fallen back on on-line ordering & delivery. The pictures really really help. Next time I brave the shops I will take my life into my hands and try google translate or similar. Any recommendations for a suitable app?
