I use osmand on my phone for route finding and etc. It would be great to have the same program on my desktop, but its only for phones. For desktop, I haven't found anything that quite satisfies. It seems like programs are oriented toward different goals like editing GPS tracks. I'm mainly interested in google maps ish functionality with route finding and map browsing, like osmand.

There's also GNOME Maps if you enjoy the GNOME look and feel (which I do):

viewing a place

directions to a place

www.openstreetmap.org is the source of the data for OsmAnd and works good in a web browser

Like this? https://osmand.net/map/

I'm not sure why they develop it quietly

https://osmapp.org/ is cool as well

And shouldn't you be able to install android apps on desktop as well with waydroid?

What about brouter.damsy.net ?

Magic Earth has a desktop client. The CoMaps one is still in development.
