NATO is an organisation made that it's members help the US getting out of the problems which the US self had caused.

Has China ever expressed interest in joining NATO? Was there ever actually a declinature?

New Zealand also isn't part of NATO, does that mean NATO are imperialists AND flightless bird haters?

Or is this another way I'm blinded by western media and China has been begging to get into NATO and they're just not reporting it in my sheeple network?

Edit: lol not a Chinese flag, I am blind and phone screen is small. My bad. Replace China with USSR then I guess?

Edit2: my first edit makes it seem like I meant that this comment still makes sense with USSR in place of China. That's not what mean, so to clarify, Im an idiot and this whole comment can be ignored ❤️

Oh yeah, just replace them, they're completely interchangeable bad guy countries, after all.

This is about that time Putin tried to join NATO but was told "no".

Also that's not the Chinese flag.

putin?

that’s not the flag of the russian federation either!

IIRC the USSR did try to join NATO in its beginnings, not super hard since they knew very well that they’d be turned away

The RF did try to join, Putin was a part of that movement. After the nationalist movement in Russia, there was an attempt to normalize relations with the west and join the imperialist circle now that they had become capitalist, but this fell through.

That makes far more sense, and there is definitely egg on my face, I was very confused. My apologies for my initial comments tone, it really wasn't necessary.

Thanks for clarifying in such a respectful manner, it wasn't really deserves after my initial comment. Have a wonderful day.

This is the flag of the USSR, not China. China has 5 stars.

NATO has always been an anticommunist war machine principally aimed at the USSR and its allies. It was originally staffed with actual Nazis, too.

Or is this another way I'm blinded by western media and China has been begging to get into NATO and they're just not reporting it in my sheeple network?

I mean you seem to just not know the history or the references being made but are knee-jerk anticommunist anyways, so maybe you should do some self-criticism about humility and politics.

That's not a Chinese flag, you arrogant moron.

[–] Kirca@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

i wonder if there's an instance of nato seeking peace instead of starting a war
