It's not just London either. I saw about 20 people marching down my road today with UK and England flags, and we're in a little seaside town hundreds of miles away from London. There must be protests like this going on all over the country.

I hate to be a doomer but I legit do not know how this country can do anything but continue going downhill.

i am genuinely worried about what's going to happen in the next few years, especially since i am not white and might be the target of hate from these people

The white conservatives aren't friends of us either, but they at least don't try to hide it. They are like wolves; they show their teeth in a snarl that keeps us always aware of where we stand with them. But the white liberals are foxes, who also show their teeth to us but pretend that they are smiling. The white liberals are more dangerous than the conservatives; they lure us, and as we run from the growling wolf, we flee into the open jaws of the "smiling" fox.” - Malcolm X

The situation is getting worse.

(^The relative silence in the media is deafening. It happened within the last 2 days.)

The solution to defence is organisation: either within the UK through communities whether formal or informal, nominally political or not, or outside of the UK ie leave and be part of an anti-imperialist citizenry. The ML approach will take it one step further with militant organisation with above ground and underground movements.

hard to be part of an anti imperialist citizenry when you don't even have a country (ravashed by war) :/

We must remember ultimately the true national liberation struggles sublimate the borders carved in blood by the bourgoisie.

Unfortunately, it seems like all of the self-described ML movements here are nazbol-adjacent at best.

Then there's room for birth of a genuine one.

the last one that tried disintegrated after barely 3(?) years of operation over internal drama

Out of curiousity which one was it?

Marxism is a science; it must be understood from the lessons of the past to build more robust solutions. Not easy but not impossible; we know this because within capital are the seeds of its own destruction. We are often forged by the failures we did not willingly choose.

red fightback
it was an undisciplined mess

[–] darkernations@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) (1 children)

Sometimes discipline comes out of necessity when the conditions of capital become so stark that unity is surivival. Having said that, it is unbecoming of us self-proclaimed MLs to rely on such "passivity"; it reeks of privilege to renege the duty of action.

[–] Horse@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

by undisciplined mess i mean:

  • parts of the party kept secrets from other parts of the party
  • there was a lot of bizarre maoism that did not fit the material conditions of the uk at all
  • it was supposed to be demcent but wasn't particularly effective at it in practice (see the secrecy part)
  • the death blow to the party was when an individual member threw a tantrum and deleted the party's online presence over the heads of the party at large and the central committee

overall it was deeply unserious
