But MSNBC hosts get fired for suggesting Kirk might not have been a great dude

We are fucked

Jones demonstrated his “compassion” for the mentally ill by all but declaring they don’t deserve it. “Put him in a mental institution, put him in a jail, and you guys figure it out,” Jones said, referring to the man MAGA seized upon as its latest pretext for authoritarianism. “But people having to duck and dive on the trains and the buses, walking through the street, this is one case, but this is happening all across the country.” Jones went on to complain that “billions of dollars” have been “given” to the homeless population and that “a lot of them don’t want to get the help that is necessary.”

That was followed by an outright call for murder, agreed to by all three cohosts.

BRIAN KILMEADE (FOX HOST): Or involuntary lethal injection.

JONES: Yeah.

KILMEADE : Or something. Just kill them.

Jones went on to complain that “billions of dollars” have been “given” to the homeless population and that “a lot of them don’t want to get the help that is necessary.”

If being “given billions of dollars” without doing anything productive is grounds for execution, Altman et al. better hop to it on finding a use for LLMs beyond ‘creative’ writing.

Hmmm good point!

Note that if you aren't currently homeless, the second you step put of line, they will ensure that you lose your paycheck, get evicted, get blacklisted, and join the list of undesirables eligible for execution. If being poor is all it takes to deserve lethal injection, there's no saving most Americans based on current economic conditions.

That would at least include some kind of deliberation. This sounds more like Judge Dredd shit.

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Pretty much, yes, complete with Judges - except they get to make up the laws, and summarily execute anyone they like because it's a lot harder to interrogate a corpse.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 days ago

Yes, but for-profit, vindictive, ideologically driven death panels. In the MAGA mind this is infinitely better than expert public servants deciding how resources should be allocated.

The ill are actually conservative voters

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's not conservative voters themselves that are mentally ill. I fully believe a lot of them are too ignorant to realize that these are not jokes.

Being an authoritarian is a mental illness. It's marked by grandiosity and delusions. The authoritarian somehow believes they are better than other humans for no real arguable reason, and their delusion is that they have the right to do whatever they please.

It's a deadly serious psychological illness that has somehow become widespread and unchecked.

[–] whiwake@lemmy.cafe 3 points 2 days ago

All MAGA are mentally ill, but not all mentally ill are MAGA.

[–] TwinTitans@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

These people need the full force of the law brought down on them.

[–] Marshezezz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They need the citizens to viciously shred them apart in the streets

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Isn't that what happened a couple of days ago?

[–] Marshezezz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 2 days ago

No that was just Nazi on Nazi crime

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago

Just like they did in Nazi Germany back then.

Hitleriffic

258,000,000 isn't an easy body count to reach. Hitler managed 21m deaths. Stalin manged 20m. Chairman Mao currently holds the record at 40-80m deaths.

Don't believe for a single second those death counts were unintentional.

Ahh yes, how pro-life
