Sounds like it was a metal towing cable, like from a winch? I could definitely see that taking a head off easier than a sturdy rope.

Don't forget Mountain Meadows, or the time they (probably) had the governor of Missouri assassinated, or the time they were ABSOLUTELY PLANNING to throw down with the Grand Army of the Republic before someone realized the Army had more men and materiel to prosecute a war with.

Of course, we all know that he also has invented time travel solely to assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand to ignite WWI.

Pretty much, yes, complete with Judges - except they get to make up the laws, and summarily execute anyone they like because it's a lot harder to interrogate a corpse.

I mean, Russia's certainly looking like they want to try at Finland again with those troop buildups, and they're propping up a lot of armed agitators in Moldova, as well as a lot of sabotage across Central Europe (and now a drone incursion accidentally-maybe-not into Poland). Sure looks to me like if Russia isn't an aggressor nation towards Europe, they're doing a damn fine job imitating one.

Do they have the troops, morale, equipment, money, or veterancy to effectively prosecute a war against a nation that hasn't undergone serious regime change recently? My money is personally on no success, but I'm definitely willing to say that Putin will give it a try. He has leashed his entire wagon to the horse named "expansionism", and he NEEDS some sort of victory to keep any semblance of public support, no matter how jaded his populace might be - otherwise his dictator friends might get ideas on seizing Russian lands.

I'd immediately miss one of those incredibly tall, narrow steps and break my fucking neck. No thanks.

Ah, but this is a thing that crappy police procedurals MAKE YOU THINK happens. You go to someone they "might" recruit, or whoever's next on THE LIST of people to recruit, and flip them BEFORE because OF COURSE these people will happily help with an investigation at the cost of their business, their credibility, maybe even their life.

This could also just be RFK wanting to put the idea in the world. Doesn't matter if it's real, doesn't matter if it gets disproven in court, as we've seen with Andrew Wakefield - as soon as the idea enters public discourse, it's alive forever, especially in the age of the internet. There will ALWAYS be a core of people talking about it, willing to accept it as gospel, and they might even be loud enough to launder more public opinion on it through wellness grifters, the entire ideasphere of which is highly incestuous.

NRA has to, basically. LaPierre turned the org into a mouthpiece for the firearms industry, and now that LGBTQIA+ people are a significant fraction of the gun-buying population, they can't afford to lose that revenue.

I was about to say, this is one of the times where when you leave jail, the prosecutor who put you there should be waiting with a briefcase full of cash for you and all the paperwork done to vacate the conviction in the first place, AT MINIMUM.

Yeah, all the Republicans in my sphere keep talking about how he's the No More Wars guy. Sure seems like we're trying to find a war against Venezuela, at least.
