Thanks for this. I didn't know who this turd was, now I have a better idea. REST IN PISS!

[–] Wazowski@lemmy.world 13 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

LOL, warms the heart to know this disgusting nazi traitor was shot dead. Fuck the republican traitor filth.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

Even better he was shot by one of his own. Just a slightly different denomination of hater.

[–] ArmchairAce1944@discuss.online 5 points 19 hours ago

If there is a hell, he is in it. The act of violence i condemn, but Charlie Kirk I condemn more and I will say he deserved it.

Yules for we but not for thee.

You know what really pisses me off about the paul pelosi attack? Like, really just makes me want to eat some bacon?

I have seen cop training. I know what they do. One of the favorite training methods is a projected screen (to get things to life size), with some fancy tools to track where a fake gun/taser/pepper spray is pointed, and there are two guys running the computer in the background as an officer interacts with the scenario on the screen. The computer guys can change the scenario based on what is said/done/acted. There is a scenario that usually comes up with entry into a house where one person has a crowbar and is kneeling above another person lying supine beneath him.

The cops have a training scenario for this screams internally EXACT FUCKING SCENARIO! And they are ALL taught that the correct answer is to shoot the person with the crowbar if the scenario suddenly shows him lifting the crowbar for another strike.

That dude with the hammer should have been kirked.

[–] smayonak@lemmy.world 2 points 19 hours ago

The subtle difference was that Pelosi's attacker had his hands on the hammer as well as Pelosi and they were both white. It looks like they were unsure as to who the attacker was.

[–] chilicheeselies@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (3 children)

What you do in a training scenario and what you do when it actually happens are two different things. Cops likely had no idea who the victim was, so them having inaction because of who it was is very unlikely

What you do in a training scenario and what you do when it actually happens are two different things.

You're absolutely right, and that may be the case. However, it must be admitted that is is much more rare to not follow your training than to carry out what you've trained for when you train for a specific scenario. Plus, this wasn't even a split second thing. The fact that they're at the door talking to the dude for a significant period of time gave them a lot of time to do the whole 'one gun, one taser' cop thing.

Lol this is the second time a banned user's post got on the front page.

Also emojis is very uncanny somehow especially with the "banned" banner right next to the username. Like who the f uses "👉"? Cringe Youtubers? Just use bullet points lol. 350 posts in 5 days, jeez, and I thought I looked like a bot. 🤣

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)
  • Markdown makes these into bullet points
  • Bullet points are more accessible and look better
  • They're easier to type
  • Just make a hyphen on a new line
[–] comrade19@lemmy.world 2 points 22 hours ago (1 children)
[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 2 points 20 hours ago

See? You can't even make them show up on different lines, because that's not they're meant to be used.

Another example of what a utter piece of shit Kirk was. The idea that our government is flying flags at half mast and people are being fired for criticizing this blimp headed monstrosity is infuriating.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 21 points 2 days ago

an airforce escort for his coffin spits in the eye of every service member that's had to toil with Trump's bullshit. absolutely disgusting.

What foes Precious? It means the person who posted it, is now banned in the community where they posted it. Despite that. The post made my main feed.

That fiendish smirk; he knew exactly that his behavior was repugnant and wrong. He was a first-class bully on an international level. Together with his wife's medieval-religious-zealot crazy talk it clearly shows how insidious religion is,^[1]^ capable of turning normal humans into psychopaths. I hope their children get out like those fortunate ones who escaped from the Westboro Baptist Church.^[2]^

Take the money away and this guy is just another racist shit-disturber and soon forgotten. Give them money and they will spew out garbage quicker than you can regurgitate it.

They are paid off by Russia to do this. This isn't per se religion, this is sophisticated modern digital warfare. That's why he got so wealthy and is so deep in crypto - crypto is the perfect way to transfer money discretely between countries.

Like look at Sapolsky or Chomsky or other intellectuals who actually do and say things that contribute to collective knowledge for decades - they don't have millions of dollars. They say factual stuff, Charlie et al said lies - so how did he get money? He isn't even the first to say those specific lies, plenty of Christian bigots have existed. So why was he so big? Russia and foreign governments literally propped him up to be a weapon against our country. He killed a lot of people.

[–] arsCynic@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I'm staunchly against the Crypto Cult Science, so would you happen to have some sources on this?

[–] LustyArgonianMana@lemmy.world 1 points 16 hours ago

I don't know what you mean.

“The Department’s seizure of 32 internet domains secretly deployed to spread foreign malign influence demonstrates once again that Russia remains a predominant foreign threat to our elections,” said Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco. “At Putin’s direction, Russian companies SDA, Structura, and ANO Dialog used cybersquatting, fabricated influencers, and fake profiles to covertly promote AI-generated false narratives on social media. Those narratives targeted specific American demographics and regions in a calculated effort to subvert our election. Our republic depends on elections that are free from foreign interference, and we will not rest in our efforts to expose foreign malign influence operations and protect our democracy, without fear or favor.”

The propaganda did not identify, and in fact purposefully obfuscated, the Russian government or its agents as the source of the content. The perpetrators extensively utilized “cybersquatted” domains, a method of registering a domain intended to mimic another person or company’s website (e.g., registering washingtonpost.pm to mimic washingtonpost.com), to publish Russian government messaging falsely presented as content from legitimate news media organizations. In other instances, the perpetrators sought to create their own unique media brands to promote Doppelganger content (e.g., Recent Reliable News). Among the methods Doppelganger used to drive viewership to the cybersquatted and unique media domains was the deployment of “influencers” worldwide, paid social media advertisements (in some cases created using artificial intelligence tools), and the creation of social media profiles posing as U.S. (or other non-Russian) citizens to post comments on social media platforms with links to the cybersquatted domains, all of which attempted to trick viewers into believing they were being directed to a legitimate news media outlet’s website.

As far as I can tell this has diddly squat to do with Kirk? He's been around long enough that I'm gonna need you to clear a pretty high bar of evidence to call him an entirely Russian fabrication (in fact this would suggest that he is entirely AI generated).

Another thing, why would you absolve American media organizations of their interests in a guy like Kirk? Like you said, our media has parroted the types of things that Kirk did since long before the internet age, but there's a good number of folks like him in the modern day. Are you saying they are all built from the ground up by russian crypto? Are we ignoring the interests of American corporations, billionaires, religious zealots, and their related super PACs in election meddling and dark money?

Warning: Video clips into bodycam footage of the attack on Paul Pelosi. The blow is not on camera, it's behind a wall, but it's on the startling side for sure.

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 45 points 2 days ago (1 children)

DePape was captured on video, hitting Paul Pelosi in the head repeatedly with a hammer. That's attempted murder. You don't bludgeon someone in the head to teach them a lesson. No Democrat, even in a cashless bail city/state would say someone like that should be freed.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago) (1 children)

Cashless bail (or even no bail at all) doesn't mean no pre-trial detention for people who really deserve it, so I'm not even sure why you'd bring it up. Of course they wouldn't free him

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Too many people think "cashless bail" means letting violent people go free.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 19 hours ago

Because the left is just awful at messaging, especially compared to the right.

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 22 points 2 days ago

Wow, he sure was a lot more articulate back in those days when he still had a neck.

[–] Aatube@kbin.melroy.org 45 points 2 days ago

“Why is the Republican Party, why is the conservative movement to blame for gay, schizophrenic nudists that are hemp jewelry-makers breaking into somebody’s home, or maybe not breaking into somebody’s home,” Kirk said in the segment. “Why are we to blame for that exactly?” “And why is he still in jail? Why has he not been bailed out? By the way, if some amazing patriot out there in San Francisco or the Bay Area wants to be a midterm hero, someone should go and bail this guy out… Bail him out and then go ask him some questions.”

[–] kcuf@lemmy.world 35 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Do you have a longer segment that mentions who he's talking about? I'd like to send this to people, but I don't it'll be as clear to them what he's talking about.
