Nice! VR was one of the increasingly few things I kept Windows around for, but when am update screwed my drivers I gave it try on Linux again. Initially it didn't look promising but a couple of tweaks and going with SteamVR Beta - as even with the Index it didn't like regular SteamVR - I had things working just as good as in Windows for any of the games I've tried.

I'll have to try things out with wireless and the Quest 2 that's been sitting on my shelf, and maybe see what the compatibility is looking like for the newer devices (or wait and see if the hinted "Frame" is the next Gen)

Monado helped me kick windows for VR. With a quest you’d use WiVRn:

I’d recommend using Envision to have a nice GUI: https://lvra.gitlab.io/docs/fossvr/envision/

Wivrn natively supporting any desktop environment like SteamVR supports Windows is the last thing keeping me from moving to Linux

What exactly does Monado do? It was also referenced in regards to the Index but I didn't end up needing it (and there weren't any native packages so I didn't offer)

Monado is an open xr runtime that you can use to replace steam vr

No way! I’ll have to try this when I get home! I’ve been using alvr with mediocre success so if steam link works I’ll be so happy

I don't foresee huge adoption of Meta devices on Linux
