For a minute I was confused, but the left is so much an improvement to the right I came to that conclusion before checking the comments. That's some great progress, keep it up!
You've made some pretty big improvements to your style and it really shows. I like that you've used shading to show more colors with the character, while making the image more compact overall. It gives her more of a personality. Nicely done!
