Help how do I make the image show up in the little preview box?? [edit: it’s just weird on my phone. Oh well.]

That gave me a boost! Thanks!

Is the image actually showing a negative post? The proportions seem narrow and that could be a minus symbol on the plastic.

I've never seen a car battery where negative post is smaller than the positive post. They're always the same size.

Yeah but what I mean is that both terminals are always identical, regardless of size/type. And I've owned cars from American, Korean, Japanese, and German automakers over the past 20 years.

Nice clean connector with no corrosion. 10/10 positive post, OP

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Hey now, now I can't sing this corrosion

It's all a matter of perspective, for example if your a physicist this is a negative post.

Ohm my! I don't know watt you did, but this post has energized me! Volt have I been waiting for?!

Well I feel recharged, thanks!

I have never in my life seen such a clean battery connector. This made my day better.

[–] GooseGang@beehaw.org 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Are they usually corroded? Or just oily? I am not a battery expert.

[–] Lazycog@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm not an expert either but have been trying to learn about my cars always to do as much as possible myself (to save money). Has helped that my cars have always been "older" models so they have been significantly easier to take care of myself. I don't dare to touch newer cars' insides.

But, to the question: often it's both + all the dirt and crap that gets in there.

It's not really a problem though until you need to change your battery or have to give it a jump start :)

Changing a battery is a hassle, but thankfully there are how to videos. And you’re right it saves a lot of money. Newer cars, like phones would be intimidating to work on. I’m trying to do research into a solar battery system, but that’s even more of a project.

Loove how-to creators! I've fixed so many things thanks to people who create that kinda content.

And wow that sounds like an interesting and big project. Wish you luck on that project and hope you also get to have some fun with it.

Appears on my instance (Mbin)

[–] Auster@thebrainbin.org 3 points 2 days ago

And on a Misskey instance too

[–] GooseGang@beehaw.org 2 points 2 days ago

Okay I guess it’s just me then. Thanks :)

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It shows up in the preview in my client, maybe it just took a minute to load. (Assuming you meant off to the right

[–] GooseGang@beehaw.org 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Thank you. It doesn’t show up in mine

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 23 hours ago) (1 children)

Curious follow up, did it ever show up? Within the fediverse when you post a picture/post the image is uploaded to whatever instance hosts that community. In this case sopuli.xyz. Then the post flows out to all the other federated instances when it is accessed from how I understand it. So I am curious if maybe it was federating properly to say .world or dbzer0 but didn't come though yet to your instance that you were viewing from on your client, beehaw. (In which I hope it did a little while later)

[–] GooseGang@beehaw.org 2 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

I appreciate the reply, but it never did. It happens with a few things, specifically some images. It redirects to a separate page when I click on it.

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Darn, maybe keep a mental note which instancea the photos aren't federating from, or check to see if they show via the website to see if it is an issue with your app vs it being the federation

[–] GooseGang@beehaw.org 2 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Right, because it’s not every instance. If I use the desktop browser maybe that’s the issue?

I doubt the browser would be it, but you can always copy/paste the link into another browser to double check that really quick. I was thinking it may have been the client(phone app), but you aren't using one... If you come across another beehaw user maybe you can check with them if they can see a preview you can't.

I'm very much a compartmentalize issues and see where it may be broken. If you see it from your phone and not your laptop, then it can't be a beehaw issue. If it works for another beehaw users, then it likely is an issue with the way you view it.
