Wait am I suposed to be suprised Google is doing this? We have a hand full of court cases already where Google ignored FERPA and all but said they would do it again, this seems like the nost predictable thing ever

Following subpoenas or warrants is also just theater. The rotating door between military/intelligence and Silicon Valley and sources of funding make it pretty clear that information flows freer than water.
