The tapping with your hands seems like a really cool tech tho. If they would just stop cramming so much AI crap into everything and try to make a decent product it could actually be good.

The use case they show is terrible tho, you don't want to be rude by texting when talking to somebody? So they made a secret texting tool? You are still being fucking rude, the other person just won't notice? And that's better somehow? And it's super obvious as well, so it won't even work.

I also hate the thought of glasses that record all the time being a thing. Imagine everyone wearing those. It would be a privacy nightmare.

Sometimes I think it would be cool to have something like a 360 camera so when I see interesting stuff whilst riding my bike, I can share it with other people. Instead of telling about it, it not sounding interesting at all and I go like yeah you needed to be there. Just today I was cycling in between a couple of farms and I saw something really weird in one of the fields. As I drove by I figured out what it was, it was a huge German Shepard dog laying on its back, paws in the air. Just chilling, being goofy, minding its own business. I laughed and it heard me, so it quickly sat upright and pretended to be a cool proud boi. Nice try my man, I saw you being a goofball!

But not even a cute dog is worth giving up all of our privacy even further, livestreaming everything to Meta of all companies.

We also very much do not need heads up displays. People already have their phones glued to their faces while walking, cycling and driving. No need to make it permanent with something as stupid as heads up displays.

Fuck Meta, fuck Zuck, what a bunch of assholes

Its really not. Imagine you ha d a microwave you could only control with 2 buttons that were unmarked. And you had to put in specific times by tapping them in specific sequence and it didnt just have a quick add 30sec option at all. You have to put in the time by taps long press to move to the next place, tripple tap to swap to power, tap for that, then 5 second press to start.

You would just buy a regular microwave. People just want to do stuff and get on with it. And i really dont want to have to remember esoteric proprietary commands for everything.

This is also why normies hate using command lines/terminals to do computer stuff and people who frequently use them love them.

we're just gonna go to the next thing I wanted to show, and hope that will work...

huge round of applause and whoops

Fucking sycophants. You should be laughing, booing, and heckling in this scenario, not clapping and hollering like a buffoon.

It was pretty cloudy around Big Ben during the event, and that slowed The Internet. It's also possible it wasn't properly demagnetized, since The Hawk is no longer with us and he was the best.

Edit: spelling

lmao imagine being as dumb as zuck

How tf does the wifi have anything to do with this abysmal failure?? Fucking wanker!

Bill gates handled his failure much better and with more tact than this lizard.

...I never thought I'd actually complement bill gates lol

The presentation is terrible. When was the last time there was a tech demo worth watching.

I don't understand how these billionaires come off so cringy and awkward. They all act like it's their first time on stage and the first time reading the script. And the script feels more like a press release than a demo.

i never in a million years thought i'd say this but i miss steve jobs

Multi billion dollar AI brought down by interference from grandma's 1970's microwave oven.

Story a tech told me at the cable ISP we worked for way back:

Every night several blocks would lose internet, all around the same time. They were rolling trucks all over the place, totally stumped.

Forget how they found her, but a little old lady was plugging her crappy TV in at night and it was backfeeding garbage into the line, taking out everyone downstream.

Another time by best friend was driving with his signal leakage meter resting on the dash. Pulled past a house and it went fucking nuts. He backtracked, found the place and knocked on the door. The guy was skeptical at first, but he was in a cable van after all. "You been having internet issues?" "YES! How did you know?! Your techs can't figure it out!"

One time we had a wireless interference issue that stumped us for months, until we figured out that it was the AC.

OK, that seems normal enough right? EMF interference caused by the HVAC system. Only it wasn't EMF. Wasn't backfeed or improper grounding either. Wasn't anything electrical. It was the positive pressure.

The AC, when it ran, was causing a change in the air pressure in the building that was degrading signal quality. For the life of me I do not understand the physics of this but I am assured by experts that it is a very real thing.

Basically, wireless is black magic, and troubleshooting wireless sits slightly above "Read the necronomicon" in terms of sanity damage.

Well, it gave a wrong answer, which is not possible with just a Wi-Fi issue.

They're still light years behind Neuro-sama.

This all makes doing the simplest of things, 100 times more complicated and expensive.

Bummer that everything he attempted didn't fail.

Impossible! I have it on good authority that “the WiFi is booming!”^TM^
