i think this would gain more support if it was raising $200k to kill it instead.

Where do I pay?
I'd chip in $20 to free humanity from JavaScript.
Didn't the homophobic moron who came up with JS literally name it that to confuse people into thinking it had something to do with Java?
I'm no friend of Oracle but that kind of just sounds like the birds coming home to roost.
afaik the basis of it is just that sun/netscape developed js together initially, and sun got the trademark, which got passed on to oracle. not really related to the bad name
Just fork it under a different name? The JS ecosystem is already a clusterfuck anyway
Not supporting Oracle btw. Fuck them, I hope they lose.
Lavascript
Lavasclipt
yeah uuh, that's ecmascript, the official name of the thing people call js. but everyone still knows it as js. oracle doesn't have any ownership of the language spec. this is purely trying to make the name trademark public
No. None of this shit matters, just use a different language. There's bucketfuls.
Group identity with a computer fucking language that exists to perform a replicable function is just unhinged tribalism.
That, an "javascript" was a terrible name to begin with.
