You could also ask "Anyone from the 2000s?" There was a Miami Vice movie in 2006

So is this going to be a period piece? Because the music and fashion were a major part of the original show.

Also, are we taking bets on casting? I predict either Brad Pitt or Ryan Gosling for the Don Johnson role. (And they’d be stupid not to give Johnson a cameo.)

The only possible good way of making that movie is moving it forward in time to the 2000s or something like that to avoid the comparison to the 80s series and still have some nostalgia in it from 20-ish years ago.
