Hi Mlem Community,

Mlem 2.3 is now available on the App Store, featuring a new design with Liquid Glass, improved PieFed support, and several smaller features and bug fixes.

Cheers,

The Mlem Group

Features

  • Adopted the iOS 26 Liquid Glass design language
  • Improved PieFed support
    • Added the Popular feed
    • Added support for editing profile
    • Added the option to view votes
    • Added support for editing and deleting private messages
  • Updated the design of the Search tab

  • Fixed profile banner image sometimes not displaying correctly in the profile editor
  • User profiles now load slightly faster in some cases

Patch 2.3.1

Bug Fixes

  • The keyboard no longer obscures the "select text" sheet in the message chat view
  • The instance page community list no longer refreshes when navigating back to it
  • Fixed the modlog not loading
  • Fixed the subscription status indicator clearing when opening posts on PieFed
  • The instance block button is no longer shown on PieFed (the PieFed API does not support this feature)

Really well implemented, thanks so much. I love Mlem.

I wonder, though, what do the Mlem devs think of Apple's new design language?

[–] ericbandrews@lemmy.ml 1 points 5 days ago

Speaking personally, I like it. I loved the skeuomorphic design of the old OS X and classic iOS, and am glad to see the design language return to something fun and grounded in physicality without sacrificing too much of the ultra clean style of later iOS versions. I do have some concerns about accessibility, as the contrast on glass is much lower, and the new language brings some interesting challenges, but overall I think it’s a pleasing change and I’m excited to see how it matures.

I no longer can view my saved posts. It’s not on the Feeds page nor my profile tab.

Was this intended?

Hi, we've moved the Saved posts to the top of the "Search" tab.

So, I’ve been struggling to get used to the liquid aesthetic, much less like it.

But this… this is the first app that’s actually made it make sense. Absolutely beautiful!

For me on Mlem 2.3 (515) the feature to view the modlog seems to be broken. Tested both on my feddit.org user and on lemmy.ca. The log seems to be loading, but never actually finishes and thus shows nothing.

Thanks for the bug report! We’re working on this one and will have a patch out soon to fix it.

Thank you 🙏

This is fixed in the latest App Store patch (2.3.1)

Thank you, I do confirm that with the update the modlog works fine again!
