Big brain tech dude got yet another clueless take over at HackerNews etc? Here's the place to vent. Orange site, VC foolishness, all welcome.

A very big problem with this study is that participants that don't delegate are not asked to do anything regarding cheating, while the ones that do are presented with various choices that influence them. "choosing a setting on a dial that ranged from ‘maximize accuracy’ to ‘maximize profit’". In this way, it doesn't "control" for anything.

One of the authors is from the Center for Adaptive Rationality, obviously making a reference to the lesswrong CFAR.

How long till the next-gen ~~grifters~~ thought leaders begin filtering into sneerspaces en masse and claiming that they saw the collapse coming before anyone else?

Honestly, I don't see a way for grifters to wedge themselves into sneerspaces - not easily, at least.

Grifters require some degree of uncritical hype to get by in a space - given sneerspaces are built to make fun of such uncritical hype, building it up here would be very difficult, if not damn-nigh impossible.

Besides, there's much more lucrative spaces for grifters to venture into, like venture capital.
