Please don't let it be shit.

Season 8 ended perfectly (there is no season 9).

How you come back so long later and keep it fresh, I don't know. I just hope they can pull it off.

I'm in a minority, but I enjoyed the soft reboot that was season 9. Maube it was because I saw it years later, or maybe I mentally divorced it from the main series, but I think it could have stood given a bit more time.

I think it would have done much better had it been a true spin off from scrubs as originally planned, instead of some silly studio decision to make it series 9.

There was legs for something, but it wasn't "scrubs".

King of the Hill pulled it off, so 🤞

I genuinely liked Season 9 🤷‍♀️ Like, I get the hate from people who thought it was going to he literally more of the same show and felt bait and switched, but frankly I think it would have been worse if they'd tried to carry on doing the same thing as though all the character development hadn't happened. And I think it stands as a good soft reboot following a new group of med students with different but familiar problems and seeing our original cast fall into a mentor role.

There's dozens of us!

Iirc it was originally supposed to be a new spin off show, but the suits got involved and forced them to make it "season 9" because they thought no one would watch it otherwise.

scrubs med school was genuinely great and it's the hill i will die on

Same. I liked s9. I can get why people didn’t like it at much but I don’t think it was as bad as people make it out to be. I had some genuine laughs in that show and think it would’ve gotten better over time once they found their footing.

Eliza coupe was the best part of it.

I'm sad that Sam Lloyd (who interpreted the lawyer Ted) isn't with us anymore :(

Ted: I’m not upset.

JD: Ted, we found you in the park throwing rocks at old couples.

Ted: WHY SHOULD THEY BE HAPPY!?

Me too. His character was great, and i really hope the other Ted's Band members make a reappearance for the show.

When I watch reruns I find Ted the funniest. Maybe because Ive seen the darker side of life that wasn’t there when I was younger.

Oof, John C. McGinley (Dr. Cox) is now older than Ken Jenkins (Dr. Kelso) was in the first series. Why did I have to look that up?

[–] tatann@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Guess Turkleton was really bitten by Dr. Acula, cause he didn't age a day

"Black don't crack" is one of those stereotypes that has a basis in reality

Bill Lawrence is pretty good at what he does. I’m optimistic.

[–] ramenshaman@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Most likely but I'll check it out

[–] svcg@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 day ago

I don't really want this. The finale of season 8, the last and final season, was perfect. Shows should be allowed to end on a high.

[–] cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone 12 points 2 days ago (2 children)

i dunno if its possible but i REALLY hope they can get michael j fox to reprise his guest role

[–] Davel23@fedia.io 3 points 2 days ago

Fox had a guest role on Only Murders in the Building a season or two ago, so I'd say it's not out of the realm of possibility.

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If they extend the offer, it might be enough for him to be flapped.

[–] svcg@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago

Impossible. We have already established that he is unflappable.

[–] justlemmyin@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Brenden Fraser! Let's goooooo

[–] Anti_Iridium@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I'm excited because John C. McGinley is a national treasure.

Get back to me when the make a ReBoot reboot, and not on Netflix this time
