Yeah, so much this. In my case it's designing or "coding" (still in my head) something related to my current projects. There's no point in going to bed if I have some unsolved project-related problem because I will not be sleeping anyway...
Have you heard of weed?
Haha, yeah, I know it very well. It can help but it's not a silver bullet. I can't (and don't want to) use it every day because it affects my cognitive abilities too much. Also, even with weed I still need to actively distract myself with something else, because otherwise I'll end up just as hyperfixated, but also high.
Edit for clarity
Is this behaviour autism related? Because I thought these are symptoms of adhd - it sounds like my typical adhd nights (but I am still thinking I might be on the spektrum as well, so idk)
Tfw you have both 😭
Now go find a doc who diagnoses both 🪦🫠
Is that hard to find? Genuinely don't know since all of my diagnoses got spotted before I turned 18.
In germany it is terrible to get any of these diagnosis at all. Way too less doctors and too many people on the waitlists
Conversations that WILL never happen*
Nah, it takes long for my brain to sleep because it's just screaming at itself constantly.
Y'all, ask your doctor about a sleep aid. I got a prescription that changed my life. It's so nice being able to settle the noise at night and actually get 7-8 hours of sleep.
My government legalized weed. Works well for me
Me asf. I feel deeply attacked.
