Why would anyone want to help AI companies steal their websites data?

If anything this just sounds like a cheaper way to serve up poisoned data.

Most companies want ai to scrape their public content.

Out of all the bullshit claims that AI companies make, a better search experience is one of the major selling points. I bet half the reason it feels better as a search tool is that it hasn’t been enshittified by SEO like traditional search has.

This is the new SEO. I bet the this new SEO process eventually fucks up AI as much as it did search engines.

It'll be even worse - with traditional search you can adjust the algorithm and filter out results. With LLMs SEO is going to poison the entire dataset because you can't just excise the parts you don't want.
