There is a life satisfaction curve - in general people do get happier and more satisfied with their lives as they age, until 70 years old! and that's the way it's gone for me.

Did not enjoy childhood.

My 20s I was so happy to be out of school (still wake up every day happy to not be in school) but poor as fuck.

30s probably the most stressful, lowest sex drive, so busy with kids and bad relationship, just not fun.

But from my 40s on, I am having a great time. Still money trouble but everything else is great, I feel good and have fun.

• Think things are good
• Accept the status quo
• Grow up
• Have kids because things are good and kids are happy
• Dislike changes to the status quo, because the status quo is good.
• Being an adult is hard. Tell your kids how great being a kid is.

• Think things are bad
• Reject the status quo
• Grow up
• Don't have kids because things are bad and kids are unhappy
• Approve of changes to the status quo, because the status quo is bad.
• Being an adult is hard, but it is better than being a kid. Don't tell your kids that being an adult is great, because you don't have kids, and are too busy living your awesome adult life to give life lessons to kids.

Hence, it will always be statistically more likely for kids to have conservative parents who tell them how great childhood is.
