Yankees be whining about (their false understanding of) North Korea while they literally carved their dear leaders into a mountain
Just put it under the sovereignty of the nation the mountain was stolen from and let them decide how to heal it
This is the only correct answer. It's a sacred site to the Lakota Sioux, isn't it? I don't think non-Lakota deciding to blow it up further is any less harmful than what the US has done to it.
The sacred black hills. It’s where their people originated, the equivalent of the garden of Eden. Even the Supreme Court recognizes that it was wrong to take it, but they’re only offering monetary compensation (which the Lakota have refused to take) and no real land back.
I'm pretty sure there's not a single Lakota person that would object to blowing it up
SACRED mountain. I don't think people appreciate this enough. This would be like nuking mt.fuji and wondering why the Japanese would hold a grudge.
Oof wow what a comparison..
Reminder that while Mt Rushmore is obviously dogshit and insane it exists…don’t worry, Georgia one-upped the rest of the nation:

(The website sucks and the link doesn’t show the image as I intended, on mobile at least, so here’s just the image from that site: stone mountain carving )
Yup, that’s right, they carved their racist confederate leaders into a goddamn mountain.
That website is hilarious btw.
A FAMILY PARK! WITH HISTORY! AND FOOD! AND A MONUMENT CARVED INTO STONE TO REMEMBER THE GREAT SACRIFICES OF WHITE SUPREMACIST SLAVE OWNERS IN THEIR RESISTANCE TO THE AGGRESSIVE NORTHERN OPPRESSORS AND DESTROYERS OF WHITE IDENTITY! DID WE MENTION THE CORNDOGS AND FUNNEL CAKES?
I mean the founding fathers were abhorrent racists too, not really any different lol
True.
I rethought it after I posted. Considered deleting. Hoped no one would call me out. And here we are.
All good lol
