So this is just for the "looks" or am I missing something here?

Doesn't seem to do anything for adhesion which I wouldn't consider to be a replacement as the title implies it is...

Unless, of course, you are looking for a different bottom surface finish.

Yep, seems to be strictly inferior prints in return for a fancy texture. So if you have uncomplicated prints but want a holographic texture on them, maybe that's something to get.

funnily I received my identical carbon-fiber surface the day before this video came out.

I had been faking carbon-fiber texture on my phone cases I sell using CAD alone. This is a much better solution for me, no extra modelling for each version. It also looks better and more realistic than my previous approach

Adhesion is worse, but nothing a little glue stick can't fix.

I have one of those holographic sheets and it's interesting to see how fingerprints hide the hologram until you clean it.

I printed a box for my in-laws on it using Galaxy Black and it turned out pretty well. Definitely something that they had never seen before.
