[-] x4740N@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Well hey atleast your mentioning your using metric unlike americans who conveniently forget the rest of the world exists

Not everyone outside of america uses fahrenheit america

Edit: It's important to mention what your using americans because it screws up recipes if people don't know what tempreture your using and it could be the difference between cold and hot and how you vs others interpret it

[-] MostlyBirds@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago

Hey man, we have to live in America every single day. You first-worlders should cut us some slack.

Had to double check because of this. Maybe a case for !usdefaultism@lemmy.world

I'm confused. I went to go take a look at that community and it says "no posts". I even set it to "New" and same thing. Is my app fucking up or is it just that new of a community? I use Connect.

About says it was made 2 days ago, and has 0 users.

42°C blaze it (coming this summer)

[-] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 year ago

69°Re 💀 (86.25°C)

I don't understand this. They're two different dimensional units, mass/weight & temperature. Isn't this like comparing apples & oranges?

Honestly wondering.

[-] nachtigall@feddit.de 6 points 1 year ago

Yes but it was meant as response to the post, so for the first panel: “69kg instead of lbs” and for the second panel “69 degree Celsius instead of Fahrenheit”

[-] dottedgreenline@lemmy.ml 40 points 1 year ago

69kg is actually a pretty normal weight, 69lbs is super light, 69st would be incredibly fat. 69F would be super cold and 69C would be ridiculously hot. 69K would be insanely cold.

[-] skillissuer@lemmy.world 28 points 1 year ago

for comparison 77K is liquid nitrogen

[-] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

And 640K should be enough for anybody.

[-] rockSlayer@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago

Ah, but you forgot about 69° Rakine. Which is also incredibly cold

[-] thessnake03@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

69F is what my thermostat is set to lol

[-] ophy@lemmy.nz 10 points 1 year ago

Sure, It's a good number for room temperature, but not for body temperature.

[-] andrew@lemmy.stuart.fun 4 points 1 year ago

Where do you live that it's both comfortable and affordable to leave the temp at 69? I guess in the winter that might make sense, but that's a lot of air conditioning where I live.

[-] TheSaneWriter@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

There are some states in the United States where electricity is insanely cheap.

This is the funniest thing ever. The way each of the characters faces progress throughout the frames. The 69 of it all. Stunning. Art.

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 16 points 1 year ago

Everyone thinks he's 69 degrees but he's actually 420.

[-] JohnDClay@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 year ago

Is it just me, or is the blue dude also modeling his facial features off of sexy Squidward?

A true God among men. If we all had his dedication we would have colonized the galaxy by now.
