Steam deck babaay!
Very hyped for this, has anyone splashed for the top end anti glare one? Is it any good?
If you plan on using a screen protector, don’t get the anti glare screen. The anti glare causes a slight blur, and the protector will just add glare back giving you the worst of both. They make etched glass protectors that have the same anti glare effect, but if you put that on the anti glare screen you get double the blur effect.
If you don’t mind popping your deck open, you can get the 64gb version and a 1 or 2tb drive for less than the price of the 512gb model. Watch a video on how to swap the drive first to make sure you feel comfortable. Otherwise, I think going for the 256 and getting a large SD card is your best option. The 64gb model doesn’t really have a lot of space for shaders which can’t be installed on the sd card without installing some mods.
So far picked up Pillars of Eternity Bundle, Stalker Bundle and Mass Effect Legacy. Probably won't get much else, if anything been debating on Sea of Thieves but I wouldn't have anyone to play that with so I'm being realistic if id enjoy it solo or not.
I'm thinking of getting outer wilds, it's been recommended to me so many times, might just pull the trigger
Thinking about buying Elden Ring and RE2,
RE2 is so cheap but I'm a pussy who could hardly stand a horror game. Can only play 2 levels of Dead Space a day.
Is ER fair if I don't plan to do coop or use summons?
I thought ER was on par with or easier than other souls games solo, I actually had a harder time playing in co-op than solo. It's quite fun and has a ton of replayability on PC with the modding community. I'm in the same vein with the spooky games being a no-go, so I have nothing to offer on RE2 vs ER.
I've never done any soulsborne with co-op and I think Elden Ring is one of the best games I've ever played. Can't recommend highly enough. When you say summons do you mean spirit ashes?
Not sure what's call in ER, the thing that can summon NPCs or players to help you.
Thank you. I heard some complains about it being less fair compared to other FS games due to this summoning thing.
I'm considering Civ 6 for my steamdeck. Have to watch some reviews first
Really debating finally going after Fallout 4 GOTY, Dredge, and Rift Wizard as they're all on my wishlist.
I know a lot of series diehards didn't like it, but I really enjoyed Fallout 4
I’m grabbing Nier Automata finally. I have it on disc in ps4, but my ps5 is digital only. So it’s going to be great to play this absolute classic on sd
- Ori and the Blind Forest, after recently completing WotW.
- GTA IV
- Stanley Parable: ultra deluxe. Loved the first one.
- The Beginner's Guide
Some local multiplayer games to play with my partner on the dock:
- It Takes Two
- Unravel 1 & 2
- ibb and obb
- Pummel Party
- Sonic All-Stars Racing
I also considered Hollow Knight and Dead Cells, but prefer to get games on GOG when available.
So far I've bought: SOMA, Call of the Sea, FAR: Changing Tides
SOMA is one of those games I wish I could forget and play again for the very first time.
I get scared easily, I'll probably shit my pants but I heard great things about the story and atmosphere so I'll give it a try.
I got a bunch of stuff from my wishlist: Stray, Rain World, Stardew Valley, Subnautica, SEASON, and Kena: Bridge of Spirits.
Oh my God, you are gonna play Subnautica for your first time. God, I wish I could forget so I could play it again just like the first time. It's a wonderful game. :)
I'm gonna try that one soon myself, because I keep seeing comments like yours and that's usually a good sign.
Similar for me is Outer Wilds. I keep seeing people highly recommend it (and to go in blind), so I intend to do exactly that.
Had a bigger haul at GOG, but for Steam I got:
- Persona 5 Royal (through Humble because of my Choice discount making it just under 30 bucks)
- Another World (double-dip on Steam because the GOG release doesn't have the original Amiga ROMs as bonus content)
- Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale Gum (a new NES homebrew game published by Digital Eclipse - always been a decent emulation publisher)
- NOMAD (another classic emulated title)
- Castle Crashers (one of my "indie titles to get" games on the old list)
- Battleblock Theater (same reason as Castle Crashers!)
Poverty
Poverty
Honestly, nothing.
I've been consumed by Diablo IV right now.
Get a Steam Deck and play Diablo while lying in the hammock in the garden...
