They should start their own studios then. Leave this businesses with nothing but the AI they wanted.
Definitely easier said than done, but I would love to see this.
It would be hard but I would have an even harder time working for people who tried to starve me and my family out of a home.
Fun fact: that's how United Artists started.
I hope the writers and actors can give them a fully featured 'find out' experience for all this fucking around they're doing.
I think the biggest problem is most studios (whatever that means nowadays) have the pockets to wait it out for a while and have no problems generating absolute dog shit content and pawning it off on the customers.
This is why we need to raise awareness of strike. Help them amplify their voices and generate the negative publicity that the studios are desperately trying to avoid!
Anyone in a position to help can donate to these charities that help entertainment workers facing financial hardship from the strike or other causes.
They know the top earners will scab if they wait long enough.
They have actors, writers, and an phones. Maybe they can make YouTube videos to further their cause.
Is there anything stopping the writers from finally working on that next great American novel they all have collectively been putting off? If there isn't something legally barring them, I expect the quality/quantity of books to increase soon.
Work Reform
A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
Our Philosophies:
- All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
- Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
- Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
- We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.
Our Goals
- Higher wages for underpaid workers.
- Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
- Better and fewer working hours.
- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
- Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.
