Just a few minutes until JAXA's first launch of 2024!

This will be the second launch attempt of the new H3 rocket, following last year's failure. The launch is out of Tanegashima Space Center, and the payload is one large mass simulator and two small rideshare satellites.

Launch window opens at 2024-02-17 00:22 UTC, 2024-02-17 09:22 JST.

Launch thread with more info has been posted over at !spaceflight@sh.itjust.works:

Launch thread for H3 flight test 2! (JAXA/MHI)

I hope this is appropriate to post here. Please let me know if otherwise.

Would any spaceflight/rocket enthusiasts be interested in setting up a JAXA community?

You're welcome! Glad it was useful.

Do you have an interest in spaceflight, or Japan, or both?

Primarily spaceflight, although I'm mostly familiar with what's happening in U.S. spaceflight so it's interesting to hear what other places are doing, like Japan or India.
