You don't mess with my awkward to use compression format. I'm not learning another one.

[-] SSUPII@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 year ago

does-it-really-matter-what-you-compress-your-tarballs-with.tar.rar

[-] EuroNutellaMan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

B-b-bu-but I use Arch... b-btw...

[-] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com -2 points 1 year ago

Last time I ran into .tar.gz, I was programming in COBOL!

[-] SSUPII@sopuli.xyz 8 points 1 year ago

Go to the releases page of any Github repository. Source code is served in a .tar.gz archive.

Look for Linux software, a lot of its sourcecode and packages are compressed into a .tar.gz archive.

Neat! I just started learning a little Linux to start up my little Pi home server. It’s been very interesting! And complicated. I am not good at docker. I have had zero success porting-any-tainers.

[-] spauldo@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

.tar.Z is even more so.

nicemonitoranon.rpm

Found the Fedora/OpenSUSE user

[-] starman@programming.dev 1 points 1 year ago

I replaced Fedora with Arch on my PC, but it will always remain in my heart ❤️

[-] GreenMario@lemm.ee 11 points 1 year ago

Monitor was so nice he forgot to poop.

[-] 5714@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 year ago

Anon's roomie has ADHD confirmed?

[-] joucker29@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

Idk why but this is very funny to me

[-] starman@programming.dev 4 points 1 year ago

Nice to hear that, it was supposed to be funny :P

[-] Transcendant@lemmy.world 144 points 1 year ago

I think they were all just curious about what OPs room looked like / what he does in there all the time, and that room mate was either the one who volunteered or the one who lost the bet

[-] Chariotwheel@kbin.social 81 points 1 year ago

At least pretend to take a pee then.

[-] 5714@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 1 year ago

Politeness pee only marginally differentiates from territorial pissing.

[-] Zozano@aussie.zone 101 points 1 year ago

Maybe he's autistic like OP

[-] lars@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

Asking seriously, respectfully, and curiously because you’re so upvoted. Is “can I [not] use your bathroom [behind two closed doors, even though I already have access to another bathroom]?” a show of some signs of autism?

[-] NOSin@lemm.ee 27 points 1 year ago

Would be the opposite actually An autistic person would probably just ask Can I see your room anon ? And f off without saying more afterwards, if they even managed to actually go and ask in the first place

[-] Zozano@aussie.zone 14 points 1 year ago

I'm just trying to stay in character, I don't mean it sincerely.

[-] idunnololz@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

I don't think so, this is just a popular meme on 4chan.

[-] liztliss@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

What if the other bathroom was in use??

[-] HonoraryMancunian@lemmy.world 92 points 1 year ago

Living alone

Roommates

Pick one

[-] ChexMax@lemmy.world 57 points 1 year ago

Pretty sure they're saying it's their first time away from family. That's a common expression where I'm from meaning you're no longer in your family home / unsupported.

[-] LadyAutumn@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 1 year ago

I feel like more and more people are "living alone with roommates" well into their 30s. Affording an apartment on your own is pretty well impossible, at least where I live. People staying with abusive toxic partners because at least living together they have a roof over their heads.

[-] gonzo0815@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 year ago

Shared kitchen but individual bathrooms? So something in between maybe?

[-] HonoraryMancunian@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Possibly. I have a private bathroom but share a kitchen and I would never say I live alone though.

Schizophrenia

[-] liztliss@lemmy.world 62 points 1 year ago

Maybe they needed to shit, saw the proximity of the toilet to the bedroom area, and decided not to stink bomb poor anon

[-] xantoxis@lemmy.world 34 points 1 year ago

Anon, your roommate was just really fuckin high. The other bathroom probably wasn't even occupado, they just thought it was because they were really fuckin high. Seeing your bathroom and speaking to you was so distracting they forgot what they were doing.

[-] TheObserver@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 year ago

Me when i was way too high on the zaza stumbling to the bathroom and my cat appears around the corner for pets. I laid on the floor petting him for 2 hours before i remembered i had to pee.

They see anons screen. They know anon watches porn , and that's the reason anon is always couped up inside the room.

They think anon is a creep.

[-] TonyTonyChopper@mander.xyz 18 points 1 year ago

rule 69: if a boy owns a monitor there is porn on it

[-] echodot@feddit.uk 11 points 1 year ago

What a slanderous remark. I will have you know mine is minimised currently.

Also the work laptop is probably monitored, so never on that.

[-] spauldo@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago

More like they see 4chan open in the guy's browser and think, "crap, this guy spanks it to BBC Hitler loli porn in here" and skedaddled.
