I think this is really the way going forward with portable gaming.

  • Lighter and smaller handheld
  • A large screen experience in a portable package
  • Privacy
  • Not having to hold the handheld device oriented to view it
  • Replaceable battery is a big plus too!

There is no mention of Linux as the OS but it looks as friendly to Linux gaming as any other AMD based handheld device beside the Steam Deck.

As long as I can use it while wearing my glasses and do not need to get special glasses made for it.

The article says it does diopter correction so no need to wear glasses with them if your prescription isn’t too extreme.

Sadly, due to an injury mine is fairly extreme.

Aw, sorry to hear that. Hopefully they’ll still be able to support glasses.

That or they do prescription inserts, or just sell you the computer and you get other glasses that do, like Viture https://www.viture.com/

Absolutely a huge no to inserts.

Why did you list "privacy"?

[-] 520@kbin.social 22 points 8 months ago

Because no one can see your screen. Even if they can hear "what are you doing stepsquidward?" from your headphones

Nice, then I can finally jerk off in public, and no one sees what porn I am watching. Nice!

This is a great idea. I rarely use my Deck's display as is thanks to my Xreal Airs.
