“But who would keep us safe if there were no police?” A better question to ask is: “Does the police actually keep us safe right now?” Or perhaps: “Why is it that safety and managing harm is monopolized by an inherently violent apparatus?” The fact of the matter is that the police do not deter harm; they react to it in a violent way, by inflicting physical violence or caging someone away.

I'm all for a reform and holding them accountable for their actions.

But actually abolishing the police force doesn't seem like a great idea tbh

This is not a test.

This is your Emergency Broadcast System. Announcing the commencement of the annual purge sanctioned by the ~~U.S.~~ PH Government.

Weapons of class four and lower have been authorized for use during the purge. All other weapons are restricted. Government officials of ranking 10 have been granted immunity and shall not be harmed.

Commencing at the siren, any and all crime (including murder) will be legal for 12 continuous hours. Police, fire, and Emergency Medical services will be unavailable until tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m when the purge concludes.

Blessed be our new founding fathers and Philippines ... A nation reborn. May God be with you all.

I married into a police family so I'm somewhat immersed on both the good and the bad (bad being mostly their "pragmatic" views on the actions of the rotten cops and not necessarily that they do it) of law enforcement. They're on the olden side so investigations and desk jobs is what they mostly do nowadays, even their sons/nephews do the same thing.

The "pasaways" are mostly the SP01s that were weaned under Duterte's BS of condoning and promoting killings while coddling and shielding them from responsibility. We just need to penalize that behavior properly (wag lang re-assign), unlearn/unteach all that, and work on reforms.

A reform is badly needed, as well as psychological testing (along with other tests) and actually having them be liable for their actions.

An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! 🇵🇭

Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.
