The downvotes are all coming from accounts on other instances, which as @ValueSubtracted@startrek.website suggested, makes us think it's most likely people browsing "All" and not appreciating seeing twenty discussion posts (not that that justifies it).
ok that gif is slightly misleading there were no exploding plasma conduits it was literally down for thirty seconds it didn't even register on lemmy-status (thank you for letting us know)
I changed the wiki registration to open so please go ahead and do whatever (I will regret this won't I?)
Awesome, glad to hear it!
Any slowness should be gone by now, I haven't seen the JSON thing happen to me yet, but I'll look into it. Next time it happens to you can you DM me a screenshot?
I banned the account from the instance and alerted its instance Admin. Lemmy makes it very easy for bot accounts to self-identify and this one wasn't which makes it more suspicious. But what is its goal? Karma farming??
The only perk we had in mind thus far was some user flair (whenever that inevitably gets invented). But you make a great point. Still getting used to this egalitarian perspective.
I'm not against hosting a comics community, but it's also not like /c/StarTrek is overflowing with OC and I'm sure the mods would be happy to have comics content (and you happier with their 10k users).
