Remember the hyper paranoid moderator we had for awhile? My biggest issue with them wasn’t their level of crazy, that was actually great - it gave us so much to talk about, really amped up participation… My biggest issue was that they would DELETE their threads, zapping all of those discussions and participations.

Damn, that's a memory I didn't want to remember. What a time.

Hello,

First of all, thank you for your work on your instance and all the integrations you did.

Regarding your criticism about this approach, I see where you come from, and I wouldn't want new communities to use it. However, for the context

Community migrations are a sensitive topic, a lot of the mods I talk with don't want to leave Lemmy.world, even if they are now a bottleneck (technical details here: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/17963030).

This migration is a test to see if migration of large communities can be done, hence this approach of making sure that the new community would be visible to the most users possible.

I hope this make our approach more reasonable, but let me know what you think.

This might be unpopular, but I think Tiktok can be a valuable tool to discover new media (especially movies and TV shows), as long as you use the Revanced version by Blaze in c/casualconversation@lemmy.world

Definitely, however it seems that nowadays even with alternative clients Twitter and Facebook don't even have that much content to share
