But it's "work to live" not just survive. You spend the rest of the time on living. Whether that's fishing, hunting, crocheting, watching football, playing games, or something else. Enough money to do what you want to.

The first rule of therapy club is that you talk about therapy club.

So it's just an arbitrary restriction as a "fück you" to people using FF

I care, but mostly because it's fun. Just like apparently there's no such thing as a fish, and that fruits are vegetables...

The Dune trilogy when I was in something like 6th or 7th degree. It was just such a great piece of fiction to introduce quite a few philosophical thoughts at the time. I still enjoy the books. (and the old film with Sting in it)

The term "late-stage capitalism" doesn't make it sound like it's not intrinsic to capitalism to me, it sounds like that's the inevitable result of capitalism. Thus it means it is intrinsic to capitalism.

My books aren't digital at all. How can they have DRM?

Why weren't those monetary subsidies just after the fact instead of just paying out on promises? "You'll get x billion dollars when y% of this area has access to z Mbps." But then again I've heard there's monopolies for that in the USA, instead of actual competition.

Let's just go back to the good old days when the web worked without JS. That would remove a massive amount of attack surface. Might seem a bit shit without the interactivity, though.

In case you want to know, your 5th word is "removed" when viewed from lemmy.ml

Cheers

Changing it to "removed" instead just drives the euphemism treadmill faster, people will find ways to say the same without those specific words. Whether something is a slur is also very context-dependent. Something computers as of yet aren't well equipped to handle.
