EndeavourOS is more like an opinionated Arch install
Fellow EOS user and this is a hilarious yet accurate description. Still have vanilla arch but EOS on my laptop now since I tend to mess with it often.

Yo momma's so dumb she stayed in reddit.
Make a guess. Lol.
15:00 CEST. That's the time they'll start answering questions, i think. It's already Monday where I am lol.
Ann Wilson (Heart) always makes me smile when I watch her live performances.
That guy edited comments criticizing him. He may be a sociopath but he's different in that he's onion-skinned too.
Lol no. I'm definitely not invested. I just deleted the account I made for r/place literally half an hour ago and uninstalled the app.
I also don't believe the protest failed because killing reddit was never my goal nor expectation. We're on lemmy/kbin. That's a win. There are people who think the way to win is to bring down reddit, but imho that's simply impossible.
Enjoy your walk. :)
Unfortunately I can't because there's a storm here. :(
Engaging on the platform and even constantly talking about the platform is a great sign of it's lasting influence.
You do realize you're on a sub dedicated to reddit, right? It's hypocritical if you're telling users to not engage yet stay in a sub that talks about the site.
Also, this is wrong. Advertisers do care about the traffic, but they also care about stability and how their brands will be perceived. This is why nsfw reddits don't advertise. Now put yourself in the shoes of an advertiser: there's a lot of traffic on reddit but there's a lot of hate and vitriol, with the threat of users leaving and just a lot of bots propping the communities up. Would you spend money to advertise on such a volatile site when there are literally other, maybe even bigger, sites available to you without all the BS or threats to how your brand/product will be perceived? I mean, you might. But you've probably made tons of better business decisions than that.
I honestly had no clue. Before you guys answered, I was thinking it was more about the economy. I appreciate the explanation.
That analogy really drives the point home. Basically, lemmy already has a built-in advantage due to the tech they went with. But like any program/machine, it's only as good as the people behind it. Thank you for the answer.
This is interesting. Thank you for the info. Quick question, though: does this mean kbin will inevitably face scaling issues when it gets too big? And there's no way to prevent that?
I'm in Asia. I can't speak for everyone but the people I know distrust the CCP much more than the US government. Sure, the US is far from blameless, but at least over here the CCP has a much worse reputation. I guess that's one factor.
Another is more than a few people seem to think Meta is strictly a private company while tiktok is somehow being used/controlled by the Chinese government.
