There's evidence of dog domestication at some of the oldest discovered human archaeological sites. Seems that for as long as humans have been humans we've had dogs at our side. Predating all other forms of domestication, including those for food. Without each other, we wouldn't be the same.

My old dog was super racist. It was hideous to walk in town and she was happy to be there and chill with everyone until we meet one black person and she'd start growling and barking, baring teeth, hackles up, the works. Absolutely mortifying.
