Are you telling me they put them in front of actual rocks and let them lick them in finals?

Ah such a masterful plan, paying for your own internet

Yeah seriously, if you're pirating the DLC you might as well pirate the entire game

It pisses me off that they're calling quantum data transmission quantum entanglement, it's not the same thing and it's misleading as fuck.

Quantum entanglement is about two quantum particles sharing the same state which if implemented somehow would allow for universal communication with no time lag. Sending quantum state communication through fiber optic, while an achievement for distributed quantum computing, is not quantum entanglement!!

The domain for my country is .ar and most sites that use said domain use .com.ar

Someone registered com under the .com.ar domain so if you add .com.ar to any url that ends in .com you get redirected to their adware site

I've always been surprised to find all the ATMs in my country run different versions of windows (XP, Vista, 7)

Like even from purely an accountant point of view, if you're using some shitty proprietary software why wouldn't you implement it in an OS that doesn't require commercial licences???

Then again the entire software stack of any established financial institution is just spaghetti code and things held on with duct tape and prayers

The whole point isn't to make it better but to "handle" the call as cheaply as possible.

If you just hang up in frustration at an automated system that's one less call the call center has to take and that allows them to reduce the staff

they drastically reduce code quality for short term acceleration.

Oh boy do I have news for you, that's basically the only thing middle managers care about, short tem acceleration

It pisses me off when I have to explain to lead developers that we do in fact have to care about things that are "unlikely" to happen because they can in fact happen and when they do they will cause downtime just because you didn't want to spend 16 man hours adding a solution to the problem

I believe it's more about CEOs seeing the investor trend of making people go back to the office raising the company stock price. Simple as that there's no need for logic when following a trend nets you several millions extra valuation

I hate how this trend of "I'll make my service shit so you'll pay more for the not as shit version" seems to work out for these companies
