So, now that I've got the Boundary Herald I was considering outfitting it for raiding and seeing if I could make something formidable out of it like my Sentinel Interceptor. For the Interceptor I just used the Sentinel Cannon and the shield-leeching laser... for the Herald, unfortunately, the Sentinel Cannon isn't an option. So what do you use if not that?

I was thinking Positron Ejector and Cyclotron Ballista but it's been a long time since I've re-evaluated my choices so I'd like second opinions.

So, I've reached the Genetic Glitch objective... I'm in the Andalen Osaka system... the one the third gate takes you to.

I've found the light creature on the Planet of Light but hunting for every animal across an entire planetary body has never been my thing. I really don't want to do it for five planets (none of the others stand out as being able to spawn anom animals).

Where's the other anomalous animal and about what does it look like? Is it terrestrial or does it live in air, underground, or water?

Anyone found a way to silence the voices that taunt us frequently throughout the whole expedition?

I'm having a frustrating enough time of it, I don't enjoy NMS' early game, without this additional vexation.

Was just skimming the community and saw the recent Atlas Scepter post and it had me thinking;

I don't know much about multitools beyond there's several categories, put things I like most in the supercharge slots, and higher numbers in relevant stats are better... in other words the very basics.

My multi is primarily a weapon platform then a scanner and mining tool. So, what category of tool should I be looking for and what should I know about them? I do like the Runic Lens on the Atlas Scepter and noticed the Atlantid mutlis have it as well... could I move that onto a different mutli if/when I replace it?

So, I've managed to find an OK location for a base, not sure if I'll actually build it out yet, and rebuilt my freighter base but in the process I've put down a BeatByte Device, found it had ... something on it from the last time I was playing and realized I still don't know anything about music.

It'd be nice to have something playing in my freighter rather than just the ambient sounds from some of the things I've put in it but I remember how well trying to do it by stabbing about in the dark went last time. I'd rather not. So, anyone else not musically inclined? What do you do with the Beatbyte?

Just booted up the game again after a significant time away and figured I'd try doing something new; building a more robust base rather than something that's just practical.

Thing is I'm used to searching only on the basis of practicality. So, how do you find nice locations to build something aesthetically pleasing rather than just fit for purpose?

Hello everyone;

I've found a melee weapon I've really been enjoying, the Tatsu Prime. However I don't have it's only stance mod, Wise Razor, and checking the wiki it's only obtainable through random transmutation or hunting Coolant Racknoids. Has anyone hunted this mod down recently? What's the grind like for acquisition? Any tips on doing so?

Going on the advice I've gotten recently for getting the last few MR ranks I'm trying to vary my loadouts every so often and just remodded a weapon I enjoy but rarely use: The Javlok

I know it's not great but I enjoy it. I figured it'd be fun to hear what everyone's pet weapons are. What weapons, if any, do you keep around that aren't powerful but you enjoy them?

Hello everyone,

I've been trying to work through my remaining MR fodder. I've picked a few things off my remaining unmastered list and started trying to acquire them... only problem is these things have proven unexpectedly difficult/annoying to get. So, is there a resource somewhere to allow for quick differentiation based on ease of acquisition?

I've got few enough things on the list I could probably fit the set of all weapons I haven't mastered yet into 3-4 screenshots if that'd help.

Edit: Was asked for the screenshots:

Took a bit more than I thought. While I was at it also took a few of the other things that give MR:

I have Tatsu Prime & Citrine building but otherwise I think the screenshots show a pretty accurate listing of what I still need to put effort into.

Just finished maxing out my Railjack Build and recalled that it at least appeared to be that Railjack was an underappreciated game mode.

So, does anyone like it now? How've you built your railjack? Do you use Lavos when doing Railjack or manufacture energy as-needed?

Is there a way to stop the mad ramblings of Liches while I'm hunting them?

It's sometimes entertaining but there's too many Lich personalities that are just grating, and I've most definitely got one of those now while I'm just trying to get a new weapon to wring the MR from.

Hello everyone,

Finally managed to get a modded world stable enough to have a few large machines running and enjoy their use, including an autonomous concrete factory. With that I've built some walls and then realized I don't have any real experience with modern architecture... so I've got a giant white brick surrounding my machines.

Honestly, I'm not used to building on this scale either so I'm not sure how to make this look nice on multiple fronts. One thing I do know though; I don't like glass curtain-walls so I'd rather not do that for this building in spite of it certainly being big enough.

Any ideas?

Honestly? Some of those SoBs are ontologically evil but you call them that and they'll laugh.

One of very few bits of rhetoric that actually phases them is the claim that everyone isn't, at least secretly, just as evil as they are. That there's something abnormal about how hateful they are, or in other words that they are weird in being so detestable.

[-] Halasham@dormi.zone 15 points 5 months ago

The issue is that they don't care. They don't care if the Bible says anything at all about the subject their on about or even if it contradicts them. What the Bible actually says is irrelevant to them, it's only what their ~~glorious leaders~~ pastors say it says matters.

The root of faith is authoritarianism, not any branch of morality or reverence or regard for history or their mythology.

[-] Halasham@dormi.zone 14 points 5 months ago

That's the thing though, all religions are control schemes. Christianity especially. It has nothing to do with being moral and everything to do with being obedient to a particular authority. The core of the faith is authoritarianism, not any branch of morality.

And something to hold the TV at a reasonable viewing angle from a comfy seated position.

Wow, that priest is astoundingly honest. It's never about proving "heretics" wrong, for the simple reason that they can't in most situations. The mass-murdering institutions only care about sufficiently large massacres that there's no-one left alive who would question them.

Stop the country, no stop the fucking hemisphere, I want to get off.

Honestly, if they are both that dense to believe that a well-known and well established astronomical phenomena is heralding the end of the world as it hasn't for millennia of this happening and that insulting that you would only give a major tip when you believed that the recipient wouldn't be able to enjoy it then they most assuredly deserved the loss.

Really reminds me of the Association of German National Jews and their sad decision to endorse Adolf Hitler. We're frequently presented with the assertion that people, in-general, are rational when they evidentially are not.

Think about it like this: Stress is bad for you. It degrades your ability to do things effectively and degrades your physical and mental health if it's too consistent. Therefore removing stress is a necessary and important activity. Do what you enjoy, at least sometimes.

The world 'legal' is holding up so much we might as well call it Atlas here.

This is still late-stage capitalism. Capitalism has persisted in opposition to effectively all Human well-being for centuries, since at-least the 1700s. So, it was still very much Late-Stage Capitalism in the 1940s. That we have yet to put this vile system out of all our misery yet doesn't modify which stage it's been stuck in for X period of time.

Further it's been Imperialism in the Colonial or Neo-Colonial style for how long now? Four centuries? Five?
