What I recall being ridiculous was the wait on Centrelink applications. (It’s been a number of years since being off Centrelink so don’t haven’t paid attention recently)

Waiting 3 months was an option for me, but Christ, I can’t imagine how shit that must be who need immediate stability.

It is much faster now. The wait times are down, but the actual claim process has also been streamlined. They've been instructed to wave more stuff through to keep the system moving and perform less checks on information that is likely to be correct anyway. For example, where you might have needed to provide bank statements previously to prove your updated account figures were accurate, now they just take your word that the information you've provided is correct.

I was also on the fence for a long time because I detest console shooters as a result of playing a lot of PC shooters (inability to aim as consistently or as quickly just feels terrible to me), but at the same time, the novelty of a Nintendo-developed PvP shooter always interested me. In the end I couldn't make a decision myself so I put it on my Christmas/birthday list and a family member bought it for me. I'm glad I tried it, although I don't like it enough to play regularly.

I can't keep up with all the various instance wars/feuds but they are amusing nonetheless.

The earlier flips were even better in this respect because the outer screen was so small it basically only functioned as a clock and notification panel. It's kind of a shame that style hasn't been retained by at least one manufacturer.

Interesting, this has been on my watchlist for a while. Given the tone of the films being listed, it sounds like I might need to plan a good time for it.

It's no different to any other screen in that respect. Just stop dropping your phone, or if you really can't do that use a case and a screen protector.

I doubt that, to be honest. People will look for any excuse to avoid spending more on the basis of ethics. The usual one with Fairphone is "well they removed the headphone jack so therefore the entire operation is clearly an advanced greenwashing scheme".

Not to mention the very legitimate excuse that Fairphone is still yet to support many countries outside of Europe. It is too big a risk for many when every generation to date has experienced isolated technical issues that require direct support from Fairphone to resolve.
