Oh wow it's it? 🙄

Gotta love when some redditor/lemmy explains irrelevant common knowledge.

My nerd and techy friends, even the more progressive ones, do just fine in most places.

Lemmy has the extremist and most angry.

🤷‍♂️ there's got to be some place for the average person to go without being screamed at by some nerd calling them a boot licker.

I also think the "confusion" of fediverse is overblown. People aren't confused. First adopters who don't want to be screamed at by flying squid aren't telling friends and family to join.

The people here and their attitude towards people who don't agree with them are the problem.

Threads has much much much more active content than Lemmy.

Edge is also a fantastic browser and has tons of actual users. Most folks I know use it more than chrome these days.

LW. The only instance really even close to supporting commercial needs. I may be missing a few snale ones but LWis the most "normal" for lack of a better description.

Why wouldn't they want to join this place and be called bootlickers for moderate policy take by some screaming communist from a .ml? Sounds like a great time to me! Getting yelled at by flying squid twice a day is a joy!

This place is primarily made up of a ton anarchist and communists screaming and spreading their own bullshit. Centrist and and less progressive folks are commonly shouted at, called bootlickers, or Nazis for relatively centrrist views.

Mods and admins are far less balanced than reddit or pre x Twitter as well. LWis about to as close to center as you can get and it's quite obvious.

It's mainly testing and standards. Same with watches now. Big tech realized they can make better shit, they just need to deal with the FDAs of the world and they can thoroughly trounce ingrained medical tech.

I love seeing these comments firmly showing how out of touch some/most of Lemmy is.

Actual reasons from an actual lawyer here https://youtu.be/wFEo9YJjGA0?si=-tQmsAGUSC4-H4jw

Tldr; Every other possibility ends in dismissal with prejudice. Dropping it leaves it potentially reviewable in 4 years. It's still highly unlikely anything happens.
